PHoto 365 Project

well, almost.

365 144d project: a photo every day

Picture
My 2012 new year resolution: A photo from my life, every day. Mostly shot with an $80 Canon Powershot. Goal: learn to see and experiment, improve my visual storytelling.

1 June 2012 update: The first month I delivered shots almost exclusively straight out of the camera. Frustrated with the limitations of the point-and-shoot, I took up post-processing the daily shots around February or March. What have I learned? Major themes that emerge: the immediate world around me, path, and companion.

2013 update: I did not complete the full year. I quit shooting with the point and shoot because I decided I wanted higher resolution images - so I started carrying a full kit (DSLR, speedlight, lenses) with me everyday, everywhere. Result? Lots of high def photos that are yet to be processed and two crushed discs in my back. Ouch. So, there is something to be said for having a camera in your pocket, even if it is lo-res.

But! I did publish two volumes that are available for free download below (you'll be getting a PDF file). Help yourself!

My partner, Carol Brozman, completed a 2012 365 project: she accomplished the completion of a small drawing every day. Take a look, they are breathtaking!  Click here to see the work.
