Check out the video comparing two different types of makes for custom knitting bags. Both are fun makes.
FIELD BAG
The Grainline Studio Field knitting bag was always in great demand when I was the General Manager at Knit Purl (the beloved, now closed, Knit store in Portland, Oregon owned by Darcy Cameron.) I was delighted when Karen Templer of Grainline made the pattern (link) available for makers. The Field bag requires 10 oz-weight canvas, has no lining, and has finished seams.
SOTAKCO DRAWSTRING BAG
I am also a huge fan of Svetlana Sotak's design work. She creates measure-and-cut PDF patterns for download for all types and sizes of pouches and bags. I always thought the drawstring bag pattern (link) might work as a Field bag style knit bag. The pattern uses quilting cotton-weight with fusible interfacing, has a lining, and no exposed seams.
